i'm quite tired now actually, but thought i'd pen a few things down. it's the end of my second week of work, and it's starting to get busy busy. there is an event coming up on 4th july, and i'll have my origami booth there running for the first time, much like a test run for games time. which is good, of course. but that means many things have to be sped up. i'm reminded of how, a year ago at this time, we were rushing for our event, let's paint!, which took only a month to conceptualise and birth. it seems as though this origami is the same, because things only started to really roll when i finally start work. so technically, it's more or less like let's paint! too. well, i'm not complaining, actually, 'cause it forces me to work fast and think on my feet, which can be tiring, but i believe it is good training. and i quite like the challenge. it's where decisions have to be made quick, responses must be quick, and execution of the steps leading towards completion has to be quick too. my brain's on an overrun, but well, i feel productive and useful. haha.
and then i remember how the daily bread devotional i read a few days back says of rest as an important part of life. God rested after creation of the world, know? He worked 6 days, and rested on the 7th day, the Sabbath. i'm an advocate of rest, because i believe in renewal of the soul and you know, no need to work THAT hard la. recharging is good for going further (and quicker). :)
i know, however, sometimes i can contradict myself by sleeping at 2am. but...i wake up at 12. haha! ok ok, i'll try to change my sleeping habits. i find that late bedtimes make me more tired and more forgetful. which can't be good. must change.
and, some things that lifted my soul this week:
1. quality time spent with my hamster (whenever we can). my heart overflows!
2. walking to the mrt alone today (a good break from all the noise at work, and all that brainwork too). alone time can be precious, just me, knowing God is with me, granting me rest in my heart and a peace that is calming.
3. seeing interracial, elderly strangers talk to each other on the bus. :) it made me smile! there's still hope in this world! and of course, i couldn't resist smiling at them.
4. singing 'How High and How Wide' with my hamster, him playing the guitar. it fills me with much joy, singing with my loved one to my Loved One. :)
5. God's plan in weaving together the lives of my friends, to further His work in building His children up spiritually...how He awesomely provides networks and paves the way, giving us a glimpse of how great His love is, such that He does not forget each little creation of His. yes, He has plans for all of us. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." :)
6. seeing mathieu's baby, so precious! and of course, the cool mother and elated father. :) did my God in heaven smile when i was born, when you were born, too? i'm sure He did. and how much more rejoicing there must be in heaven when someone acknowledges his Father!
and number 7 would be sleep for the night, a welcomed friday night rest. heh. not everything was peachy dandy this week, i had difficult times with my mother, but hopefully things will work out in the end. :) i just pray for a good weekend, because next week is going to be yet another crazy one.
till then! God bless.
